Accommodation
We first viewed Kaber Chapel in May 2006 and because of many hiccoughs and red tape we eventually completed the purchase in January 2007 having achieved full planning permission for a luxury holiday home. We are a mixed cultural couple - British and Norwegian - living in Norway with family living in a neighbouring village to Kaber. This is our dream place. It's designed to help us and others escape their stressful lives, to be active by walking or cycling in the area or just relaxing with the chapel facilities. We have spent many hours, with the help of an excellent architect, to create a stunning and contemporary design that we think captures the best from two different cultural styles whilst still retaining many of the chapel features..
To reduce the carbon footprint of this property we have installed an air source heat pump which reduces the use of fossil fuels by up to 40%. The building has been designed to be energy efficient and scores over 90% on energy efficiency.

GREAT ROOM
This is the heart of the property and enjoys the full height of the chapel to the chapel roof. Here is the fully equipped open plan kitchen
- located where the altar was and still retaining the altar rails as part of it's design. It has a 2 oven Aga range cooker plus an electric
conventional 2 oven Aga module; combination microwave; dishwasher; wine cooler; fridge and freezer.
Here you will also find a large dining room table which seats 14 - two long pews from the chapel and four complimentary dining
chairs; sofa and chairs around a log burning stove with a wide range of books and board games. The CD player is here with a large
selections of CDs and an Ipod docking station which allows you to pipe music into the Great Room, upstairs Sitting Room and/or the
Lavvo area. Internet broadband can be accessed via a wireless modem.
GROUND FLOOR
UTILITY A functional room with room to dry wet clothes, a washing machine with tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.

HOT TUB & LAVVO ROOMS The outbuildings have been rebuilt to adjoin the chapel and create a very special area with a Scandinavian feel. The hot tub is a traditional cedar wood barrel design heated by electricity to seat 4 or 6 people. There is a glass roof over this area.
The lavvo is a Scandinavian indoor grill based on the Laps lavvo tents where they cooked and slept. The pine seats which easily seat 12 people are covered with reindeer skins - it's great fun and very social. Speakers pipe music from the Ipod docking station in the Great Room.
